Building Securities Exchange-ADX (Abu Dhabi, U.A.E.)
Execution design study for the Stock Securities Exchange (ADX) headquarters building at the new Abu Dhabi Financial Centre Complex (4.500 tons of steel).
Sowwah Island is set to be the new financial centre of Abu Dhabi. Already underway is Sowwah Square, which includes four office towers and the headquarters for the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX). The new ADX building is a 5 stories structure with a total surface of 18.000m2. The structure is composed of composite slabs standing on 8 steel mega-trusses (mid span 48m), which are supported on 8 reinforced concrete piers. The total weight of steelwork is approximately 4.500 tons.
As a subcontractor of Terrell International (France), we delivered the main execution study of the steelwork part of the building (calculation notes and execution drawings), to be designed according to AISC codes and standards.

Toll canopy of the Rion-Antirion bridge (Rion-Antrirrion, Greece)
Conceptual and execution design studies for the steelwork of the canopy and access to its roof.
The tolls of the Rion-Antirrion are located on the Antirrion side of the famous award-winning bridge the construction of which was completed in 2004. The bridge is a link between continental Greece and the Peloponnese and is located at the Corinth gulf, near the city of Patras.
The canopy has a total length of 65m and is supported by 4 pairs of inclined columns with a longitudinal span of ~21m. Trusses with elliptical shape are used for the cross section of the canopy. The canopy width is 20m and the height at mid span of the truss section is 2m. The elliptical shaped trusses, placed every 5.2m, are linked together on the longitudinal direction through 4 truss beams. The columns are placed with a transversal span of 11.5m and the free canopy height is 6.5m.
The access of the passengers from the parking site to the main administration building side is provided by the top of the canopy, which has been designed to function as a footbridge as well.
Our design office has delivered the conceptual as well as the execution design studies (calculation reports and construction drawings) for the steelwork of the canopy and its access according to the Eurocodes and the national seismic code.

M6A1 Building of the University Paris 7 Diderot (France)
Execution design study and construction drawings of the mega-structure supporting the building over the sports hall.
Inside the new Paris 7 university campus, the 8-stories M6A1 building (19.000m2) has been designed by the architect Baptiste Lacoudre to be partially supported on a sports hall. In order to achieve a clear space for the sports hall, a 40m x 20m area is covered by seven mega-truss beams which have a length of 22m and a height of 4m. The 8 stories are supported on these truss beams.
Our mission was, as a subcontractor of the steelwork fabricator Brisard Grands Travaux (France), has provided the execution design study and construction drawings of the mega-truss structure.

Campus ENS – Paris Saclay (Paris, France)
The Ecole Normale Supérieure in Cachan (E.N.S. Cachan), created in 1912, will move to its new location on the plateau of Saclay.
The project is quite emblematic insofar as it is signed by architect Renzo Piano and awarded as a BIM d’Or project in 2015. The works will be carried out by Campenon Bernard Construction (Vinci).
It is with some emotion that we have participated in this project alongside CBC (the Director of our Design office spent 4 years in this scientific institution preparing his PhD).
We are responsible for the execution studies of the steel structures of the buildings 6 (reception), 7 (amphitheater with 500 seats) and 8 (hall with retractable bleachers) as well as the connecting bridges with the other buildings of the new campus.
